Plant and access planning

Plant is selected to suit site access, ground conditions and the work sequence. Specialist equipment is arranged where a project needs it.

The aim is to use suitable plant for the site, reduce unnecessary disturbance and keep the construction footprint as small as practical.

Environmental controls built into the work

Working around streams and outfalls means environmental controls cannot sit separately from the construction method.

We consider water management, sediment, excavation, stockpiles, access, plant movements and reinstatement before work starts. Our site team then works with environmental and ecological specialists where required so those controls are carried through into the physical works.

Livic Civil works with specialist partners to support GD05 requirements and other environmental matters, including erosion and sediment control, fish passage and environmentally sensitive construction where required.

Self-performing civil delivery

Livic Civil self-performs the core physical civil works rather than subcontracting the entire package.

Our own team provides project management, site supervision, site engineering, drainlaying, excavation, pipework, structures, access works, erosion protection and reinstatement. Specialist subcontractors are brought in where a particular technical discipline or certification is required.

This keeps responsibility clear, reduces unnecessary subcontracting layers and keeps construction knowledge close to the workface.

Relevant experience

Our recent Auckland delivery includes the Hakanoa Street Stormwater Renewal, where Livic Civil provided project management, site engineering, site supervision, drainlaying and civil construction across a complex stormwater renewal involving deep manholes, catchpits, private connections, live services and significant tree constraints.

Our proposed team also brings previous experience across sensitive-stream outfalls, fish relocation, fish-passage works, culverts, controlled dewatering and construction around sensitive waterways.
