A contractor for your type of project

For principal contractors, we can deliver a defined subcontract package with clear boundaries between our work and the wider project. We establish who manages design queries, approvals, temporary works and interfaces before construction.

For commercial sites and developments, we consider the earthworks, drainage, structures and pavement work together. Staging may need to maintain vehicle access, deliveries or neighbouring operations.

• Hakanoa Street stormwater renewal: Livic Civil delivered the non-drilled civil construction scope as a subcontractor to CDS. The work included pipelines, manholes, catchpits and excavation in a constrained urban street, with Auckland Council Healthy Waters as asset owner.
• Army Bay Three Waters: replacement of two tanks with associated removal, pipework, overflow connections and reinstatement in restricted access.
• Beach Haven driveway reconstruction: removal and reconstruction of approximately 60 m² of residential driveway, including ground preparation, basecourse and exposed-aggregate concrete.

Planning around Auckland site conditions

An established street, sloping section or occupied property can dictate how a job is built. Before pricing, we review access for plant and deliveries, working space, service information, ground levels and the areas that need to remain usable.

During planning, we identify the requirements for excavation support, groundwater management, spoil removal, drainage and reinstatement. The method needs to suit the actual site and the design.

Livic Civil delivers construction and practical buildability input. Independent structural and geotechnical design is provided by appropriately qualified specialists where required. Design, consent and inspection responsibilities need to be agreed as part of the scope.

• Define the work: review the location, scope, drawings, access and intended programme. Arrange a site visit where needed.
• Agree the price and responsibilities: identify inclusions, exclusions, allowances, approvals and interfaces with other trades or asset owners.
• Plan and build: sequence excavation, deliveries, construction and reinstatement around the agreed requirements, with inspection points identified.
• Close out the scope: provide the agreed quality records, test information and as-built documentation, and address outstanding items.
