Concrete & Pavements / CAPABILITY

Concrete Driveways Auckland.

Concrete driveway construction and replacement across Auckland, from removal and ground preparation to the finished surface.

Let's talk about your project

THE CIVIL SCOPE

Built around the work.

Livic Civil builds and replaces concrete driveways for Auckland homes, including North Shore properties. We coordinate the excavation, pavement foundation, drainage interfaces and concrete work as one agreed scope.

Every site has different ground, levels and access constraints. We work through those details before pricing, so the quote explains what is included and how vehicle and pedestrian access will be managed.

Driveway construction and replacement

A replacement needs to address the cause of deterioration as well as the surface. We assess the existing driveway, discuss the intended vehicle use and agree the removal, disposal and reinstatement scope.

For a new driveway, we establish the proposed footprint, connections and finished levels before starting ground preparation. Where the work meets a road, public footpath or other shared asset, the quote needs to identify the applicable approvals and who will arrange them.

Removal, ground preparation and pavement foundations

The work can include breaking out existing concrete, removing unsuitable material, preparing the subgrade and placing and compacting the specified aggregate basecourse. Weak ground needs to be assessed before it is covered.

Concrete thickness, reinforcement, joints and foundation requirements are agreed for the ground conditions and intended loading. The Beach Haven project used 150 mm of GAP65 basecourse beneath 100 mm of 25 MPa concrete with 665 mesh. Those are project-specific details, rather than a specification for every driveway.

Drainage, finished levels and access

We plan how surface water will leave the driveway and how the finished surface meets garages, doors, paths and neighbouring ground. Existing drains, covers and underground services need to be identified before excavation.

Any drainage changes and connections form part of the agreed scope. Our stormwater and wastewater guide explains why those systems need to be considered separately.

Concrete finish and residential site constraints

Black oxide exposed-aggregate concrete is a finish Livic Civil has delivered on a completed residential driveway. We agree the finish, edges, joints and curing arrangements before the pour.

Occupied homes and narrow accessways need a practical sequence. We discuss plant access, spoil removal, material deliveries, protection of existing services and surfaces, and temporary pedestrian access. Vehicle access during the work and when the driveway can return to use are agreed for the site and concrete requirements.

Completed driveway: Beach Haven

Our Beach Haven driveway reconstruction renewed approximately 60 m² of residential vehicle access on Auckland’s North Shore. Livic Civil removed deteriorated concrete, prepared the ground and rebuilt the pavement with a black oxide exposed-aggregate finish.

The project page includes the approved construction photographs and the verified pavement details. It shows the work beneath the finish as well as the completed driveway.

Also considering asphalt?

Concrete and asphalt suit different priorities. Asphalt can be worth considering for larger areas or where upfront cost is the main concern. Concrete offers more choice of finish and a harder surface. Livic Civil can deliver either option and help you compare the complete job.

What to send for a driveway quote

Contact Livic Civil with the property address, photographs, approximate dimensions and whether you need a new driveway or a replacement. Include any drawings, drainage information and your preferred finish and timing.

We can then discuss the scope and arrange a site visit where needed before providing a quote.

  • Tell us about steep or narrow access, shared driveways and vehicle access that needs to remain available.
  • Identify any known service locations, damaged drains or areas of soft ground.
  • Let us know if retaining walls or other concrete and pavement work need to be included.
