THE CIVIL SCOPE

Built around the work.

Deep underground work needs more than a larger excavator. Access, ground behaviour, lifting, service locations, water and temporary support all affect the construction sequence.

Livic Civil brings practical drainage delivery and engineering coordination together, with specialist temporary-works input where the site requires it. We are used to working in constrained, information-sensitive conditions where the temporary condition matters just as much as the finished asset.

Before the dig starts, we work through access, support, lifting, installation steps and inspection points as one plan. We look for the issues at the interfaces early, while there is still time to solve them properly, rather than reacting once the excavation is open.

Quality is built into each stage: the support, the line and level, the installation and the checks before anything is covered. We set the bar high because this is work that should be done once, recorded properly and left ready to perform.

Plan the temporary condition

Assess the ground, nearby assets and construction loads. The excavation method and support system need to be suitable for the actual site conditions.

Coordinate the installation

Set-out, lifting, bedding, joints and chamber interfaces are planned around the supported excavation. Inspection access and the next safe step are considered before work starts.

Check before covering

Record the installed work, complete specified inspections and tests, and control backfilling and reinstatement. Resolve discrepancies while the work remains accessible.

A FEW USEFUL ANSWERS

Good questions.

What makes deep drainage different?

Depth increases the importance of ground support, safe access, lifting and control around adjacent assets. The right method depends on the site rather than a single standard arrangement.

What depth is evidenced by Hakanoa?

The supplied project brief describes excavation or manhole depths reaching approximately 5 metres in parts. This is project-specific, not a general depth limit or a claim about every installation.
